HOw far post op are you? What type of surgery did you have?

I had LAVH and would not have considered starting something new like that for a couple months at least because there is a lot of stretching every which way.

Curves is set up with several machine that use hydrolics as resistance. So you basically work them as hard as you can to get the most benefit. Each machine works different muscles. You do the machine for 30 seconds and then you walk in place on a padded platform for 30 seconds...then you start the next machine.......etc. You keep going for 30 minutes. Some Curves have more machines than others so you may have to go around 2 or 3 times depending on how many machines your Curves has. The cost is variable but the one near me is about $30 a month and you have to commit to a year. If you pay for a year upfront the cost goes down. There is often a fee to join but often they are having a special and you can get away with a reduced fee or no fee at all. I would suggest calling your Curves and setting up a time when you can go in to see the facility.

I have belonged to curves on and off for a few years. Probably more off than on. I tend to respond more to diet as far as weight loss, but we are all different. Since Sept I have not been to Curves and have lost 17lbs through diet. I was not diagnosed w/ diabetes but my blood sugar was borderline and it was causing me to get palpatations. This was incentive to me to eat more healthy.

I would think that February would be a reasonable start date after your surgery, providing that you do not have any complications between now and then....When I did go to Curves regularly, although I did not lose weight I did lose inches and gained muscle definition that was quite remarkable.
