The Woman's Guide to Hysterectomy is written by two women who have themselves been through a Hysterectomy. I found that it was a very worthwhile guide for a woman who is considering a hysterectomy. It takes a positive look on hysterectomy without trying to talk a woman into having one.
The book gives a lot of information on medical conditions that might lead to a hysterectomy, as well as alternatives that might be available.
It gives information on the different types of hysterectomies and discusses the various risks associated with the different surgery types. The information is fact rather than opinion based
One topic that concerns many women is sex after hysterectomy, and this book does a good job of covering the topic in a very open and positive way.
The only area I felt lacking in this book was on hormones. It gave only a basic overview on pharmaceutical hormone replacement available.
Over all I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is either considering or having a hysterectomy.
