I wanted to start a post that we can move to the family and friends forum. I thought that perhaps you ladies could share some things that your husband, a friend or family member did that made things easier for your recovery.....
I will start off:
#1 It was a big help that my husband took a week off work to take care of me. He was very sweet to me while I was recovering. I remember him spoon feeding me in the hospital. Of course I was fully capable of feeding myself but I let him do it because I thought it was so sweet.
#2 My very best friend came to spend some time with me when I was maybe a little over 1 week post op. I told her about the two week jammie rule so she brought her jammies and we both sat around in our jammies. She just stayed for a few days and it was nice. That was really nice
#3 A good friend from out of town sent me a nice little care package. It was a tea cup and some special teas. I got lots of flowers from people too and I have to say I very much appreciated everything. One thing to remember. If you want to send a little something to a patient in the hosp. if you call the hospital and ask to speak to someone in the gift shop you can have flowers or anything sent to her room. The prices are usually great and there is no delivery charge. You can leave it on a credit card. Even if you just want to send a little something. There is usually something for under $10. these tokens are always appreciated.
