my dh went to ALL of my appointments with me pre and post op. this i think was great because he really knew what to expect and understood better what i was going through. he also let me talk and talk about my surgery even though i'm sure he was sick of the subject by the time i actually had the surgery! i waited a month from my initial appointment until the hyst. longest month of my life!
post op he did all the cooking and was a great help with the housework along with the kids (they are teens) i did absolutely NOTHING for the first 4 weeks, except walk, walking is very important after a major surgery! God Bless my dh, he did all this and went to work also!
the best advice i could give a loved one is this...
the person having this surgery really needs to concentrate on healing because we only get one chance to heal correctly! overdoing things could lead to pain and problems later on down the road, so help as much as possible and be supportive. this is a major event in a womans life so have some patients, it will mean so much to her!
