I used this site 4 years ago when i had my hyst and it was a great support. I had no problems following my hyst apart from a posterior repair last year where my consultant found what he thought was a bartholins cyst, he attempted to remove this 4 weeks later and found it to be a 8cm very rare tumour, eventually it was diagnosed as an aggressive angiomyxoma, I have to go to a hospital 200 miles away for regular MRI scans as i still have 4.5cm of tumour left inside (perineum) and they are very difficult to remove without causing lots of damage, then they grow back. I am taking Tamoxifen to try and keep the tumour at bay but at my last scan was shown to have 2 large 'cysts' on my ovaries, before a trans-vaginal scan could be ordered i had collapsed and ended up in hospital. I have a approx 8cm multiloculated cyst on one side that had haemorrhaged several times but also it is suspected that another cyst had ruptured on the other side. Anyway, I am to have my ovaries removed in 2 weeks time and i know there is a small risk of malignancy, does anyone have any experience of this?? What will my surgical menopause be like? Will it be lessened due to the tamoxifen? My mind is in a whirl with all this and my consultant is very complacent about it all which frustrates me.
