Hi my name is Elisha. I am 26 years old. I have given birth 4 times. I have 3 living children ages 5,2,and 1. I also have a baby that was stillborn and would be 4 this December. I had pre eclampsia with the middle two pregnancies. I had high blood pressure and developed a heart condition with the fourth which neither have gone away. At the ripe young age of 31, my OB/GYN has offered me a hysterectomy (just the uterus, not the ovaries-don't know the term for that) and I am fighting with myself about it. Every month during my period, I cry and moan and feel like I'm dying, I want the hysterectomy RIGHT NOW! but then my period passes and my brain tells me it wasn't all THAT bad and that I can live with it-that a hyster is too drastic for my age.

Hi

It's been over a year since I've been here and I'm still pondering my options.

I'm 43 y/o mother of 3 with absolutely no plans on having more children.

My problem is one very large fibroid. I saw a second GYN today and tomorrow have a consult with the radiologist for a possible UAE.

I'm torn. Hysterectomy or UAE. I have to do something. I'm anemic and I just can't stand the heavy long periods anymore.

I'd love to hear your stories if you've had a UAE....

New Here. Hoping to find some advice. Do any of you know women who have had total hyster. for relief of anxiety and/or depression.

My doc who is an OB/GYN and psychiatrist (yes both) thinks that a total hys may be the best option for me. I take meds which work for the most part but I don't want to take them until I go through menopause (I'm 35 with 3 kids - done having kids). I get quite anxious whenever I'm ovulating and stay that way for about 2 weeks.

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about gynecological laser surgery? I've searched the net and found a site by a Dr. named Dr. Del Junco Jr. in Glendale, CA.. He refers to it as Fibroid Alternative Surgery. I didn't realize this type of surgery was available. Possibly, the docs I've consulted aren't trained in this procedure and didn't mention it. In May, I was diagnosed with adenomyosis. I was put on depo shots. The first shot worked for the first eight weeks, but after that my symptoms (bleeding with clots and pain) came back. I went to the doctor today. After performing a vaginal sonogram, he told me that I have a polyp in my uterus. He also believes that I have endometriosis.
